Iain took us ghyll scrambling and it was a fantastic experience. He was very helpful and flexible. We were unable to go rock climbing due to poor weather so Iain took us caving in the Yorkshire Dales instead. This was a great alternative that we really enjoyed. I would definitely recommend Iain for anybody looking for an adventurous experience in the lakes.

We absolutely loved pur grill scrambling experience on 24/8/23. A family group of 11 ageing from 8 to 42. We had the best time and conquered some fears. Our daughter has ASD and found bits a little tricky but there was different routes to accommodate all abilities. Ian was great and would certainly recommend and book other activities with him.

Myself and two friends booked Iain for the Ghyll scrambling . Booking was easy with great communication. With the booking we got wet suits , over jackets , helmets and walking boots ( 10/10 for the boots , we have done this a few times with other companies but never offered shoes , great bonus )
A few days before we had had allot of rain ! On the day it was dry and sunny , the previous days rain made the Ghyl a great challenge , Iain having our safety as full priority made the decision that his regular route up the Ghyl was unsafe . Despite this we took a different route and it prooved a great fun day .our favourite bit being the plunge pool . He took pictures of our adventures all day which we was made up with . I will definitely book with him again . What a cracking experience!

We had a fantastic time scrambling up Stickle Ghyll with Iain. He made sure that everyone was put at ease, was safe and knew exactly what to do. We were all challenged and supported as necessary, working together to ensure that everyone got the best out of the experience. Even this 55 year old with an artificial hip climbed a couple of waterfalls. I’m sure that we’ll be back for more in future.

Iain lead a fantastic trip through long churns for me, my boyfriend and his dad . All of varying abilities and me ( rather scared of tight spaces ) handled very well, we all not only managed to get through but had a great time doing it . Iain was very knowledgeable, super supportive and great company to be around ! Which is great when you’re spending hours underground together! Whether you’re more experienced or a beginner like me manages to give you a great day out with ease ! Will definitely be coming back !

Iain guided us through a great Ghyll scrambling experience. We had a lot of fun climbing rocks and immersing into freezing waters. He provided a complete set of gears from head to toe so we didn't have to worry about them. He also offerred his car for service since we weren't driving. He made sure we are safe from the start til the end of the adventure. He also sent us a link of photos and videos he's taken of us. We'll definitely recommend him to our friends who want to try the experience as well. We will book another adventure with him the next time we go back to the lakes as there are other activities Lakes Outdoor Experience offers as well. :)

We had a great two days out on the fells with Iain on the mountain craft course. Learned a lot. Walked a lot. Camped out. Used compasses, maps and ropes. Highly recommended. Iain knows what he’s doing.

Iain took our stag group on an action packed adventure day in the Lakes. He communicated well prior to the day and planned a perfect day for us. He is clearly an experienced guide with all the gear and he led a group of mostly mountain novices rock climbing and ghyll scrambling. Would recommend this for other stag/hen groups, great fun. His prices are competitive, he’s a good bloke and I would recommend him to other groups. Oh and he takes some awesome GoPro photos.

We booked a days abseiling and Ghyll Scrambling and Canyoning with Iain for myself, my wife and our 10 year old son (who has ADHD and high functioning autism). We had specific objectives for the abseiling as my wife has a fear of heights and falling backwards and we were concerned that she might pass on those fears to our son who has taken her lead on things like this (after an abortive attempt at trying Go Ape).

Iain designed the day specifically with those objectives in mind and was very supportive and encouraging to all of us and his enthusiasm was contagious. Iain was also very good with our son and accommodated his additional needs really well. The result was a successful mornings abseiling with everyone taking part and increases in confidence and self esteem all round. We did not abseil down a long way but this was enough to overcome the initial reluctance to lean back and everyone now wants to try abseiling again with a larger drop.

The Ghyll Scrambling was great fun and again Iain had our sons interests very much to heart - he did not want him getting too cold and not able to complete the course which could have been a real possibility. In the event we all completed the course and had great fun doing so and again took ourselves outside our comfort zones so everyone increased in confidence again.

We would have no hesitation in recommending Iain and the Lake District Experience and will definitely use him again for further abseiling and to guide us up and along Striding Edge when we decide to tackle Helvellyn.
