I thoroughly recommend a course with Iain to anyone who wants to get some superb practical navigation skills. During the course I was able to experience many of the challenges that face any navigator and good practical advice to overcome them.

The added natural history lesson looking for crayfish in the streams was an excellent bonus.

My family group joined Iain for three separate sessions across three days towards the end of August ”15. We spent time with Kayaks, caving and canyoning – much fun. Iain was highly professional throughout, ensuring a perfect balance between safety, adventure and fun – with the addition of being informative about geology or the environment as we proceeded. This was our first time caving and canyoning and it was really enjoyable part of our holiday. I would have no hesitation recommending Iain to others.

Kendal Mountaineering Services organised a last minute Ghyll Scrambling trip for myself and friends with instructor Mark in the Langdale Valley this weekend. Our group of 10 thoroughly enjoyed the scrambling and would highly recommended for anyone – regardless of climbing ability! We look forward for our next adventure!

Many thanks to Ian at Kendal mountaineering services. I had a great time doing the Cuillin Ridge on the Isle of Skye in May 2016. Despite my lack of experience at this level I never felt less than confident with Ian in charge.

The cottage we stayed at in Fiskavaig was the perfect place to relax after a hard days walking.

I've just spent an amazing week in Slovenia experiencing a range of walking routes in the beautiful Julian Alps with Iain and colleagues. Iain is very experienced and knowledgeable and tailored the routes and distances to suit individual interests and capabilities. Each day was different and Iain's knowledge of the area, including sites of historical significance, was a real asset. There was a chance to experience a range of other activities, including zip-wires across gorges and paragliding from the mountains on the 'rest' day! Accommodation was first class - freshly made bread and generous packed lunches provided by Matt who has spent several years in this beautiful, unspoilt country and provided a real home from home, as well as chauffeuring us to and from the walking start and finish points. In summary: a wonderful week with an expert guide and instructor, made special by the excellence of the hospitality.

I've just returned from a week-long guided walking holiday in Slovenia, led by Iain. Whilst I knew the scenery was likely to be impressive, it certainly exceeded my expectations, a really beautiful place. The holiday was group who had not met before, but got on very well – with a different walk and pace each day. Iain was very flexible, adapting to the needs of the group and the weather conditions. A very good week was had by all!
