We had a fantastic day ghyll scrambling with Iain in Glenridding. We were two families with four boys aged 9 and 13. Despite the freezing cold water, we all had a fantastic time and were well looked after by Iain. Really liked the fact that it was just us in the group and all the equipment was provided, even footwear. The hot chocolate at the end was a nice touch too! Would highly recommend. We’ll definitely be booking another session when we next return to the Lakes.

So we were let down by another Ghyll Scrambling company at the last minute. However, I contacted Iain who said he could help out on the dates we had previously chosen to Ghyll Scramble at Stickle Ghyll. What an amazing experience, not only fun but safe and well organised. All correct equipment (including walking boots) were provided and the added bonus of some action photos along the way. I would like to thank Iain and would highly recommend him.

Thank you for a great day, it is hard to cater for a family group and keep children and adults happy and challenged but yet you took us all under your wing, correctly read that the emphasis should be on the children and entertained us all varying your guidance accordingly as the day went. We all have fairly unique half term experiences to talk about; one day we'll be back for more fun and games.

Sept 21 Navigation weekend: Great weekend of learning new skills with a lot of fun added to it. Weather wasn't the best, but that actually helped with the learning, compass Navigating in the fog is a perfect way to learn. As they say it's never bad weather, only a bad choice of clothing! Iain is a great teacher with an unbelievable wealth of knowledge in his field. If you want a good, fun way of learning new skill then this is highly recommended.

We spent a morning Ghyll Scrmbling down Stoneycroft Gill with some friends yesterday - we had a great time. Iain took great care of us all, paying particular attention to our youngest memeber of the gang, who was only 7! Iain has a wealth of experience and knowldge, which made us feel very safe in his company! He also took the time to take some super snaps, capturing our adventure as we went along! Thank you Iain for a great time!

We had a great day Ghyll Scrambling with Iain up Stickle Ghyll . I’ve walked up the path many times but always wanted to try the more fun route up . It didn’t disappoint we had so much fun and a great experience to share with the kids and friends . A few of us were pushed out of our comfort zones but we always felt safe and now have a great sense of achievement . Smiley, happy faces all around . 😌

A brilliant day ghyll scrambling in the Esk Gorge with Iain - he keeps up a decent pace to make sure you get loads done. By the end of the day, we were all knackered!

I wanted to take my two grown up sons caving for the day and was delighted that we choose Iain to be our guide. He was extremely knowledgeable and gave us loads of information on the local area and geology of the caves in an engaging and humorous style. He was able to personalise our trip to provide just the right level of challenge and support and we all had a fabulous time with the culmination being abseiling down a 20 m underground waterfall! I would thoroughly recommend Iain's caving trips and suggest you go for an all day trip as it gives the chance for Iain to assess your ability in the morning and then pitch the afternoon trip to extend your skills.

A fabulous experience for the whole family. We had an amazing day out with Iain - Kayaking and Ghyll scrambling. Iain sorted all the equipment we needed for the day, and even organised parking at the sites - which is a bonus in the Lakes during the summer. The day was taken at a pace to suit us, and Iain looked after us well. Finding activities to keep the whole family happy is a challenge - but this ticked the boxes for everyone - smiles and laughter all round. At the end of the day Iain sent us the photos he had taken for us - a great souvenir from the day. Looking forward to coming back for more on a future trip - thanks Iain - see you again soon!
