Booked a half day introductory rock-climbing session with Iain for my 12-year-old daughter. We were lucky and had beautiful weather in the Langdale valley. The crag Iain chose had an excellent mixture of routes of varying difficulty. Iain was very professional and covered the safety aspects of climbing whilst preparing for the climb. He got my daughter climbing as quickly as possible without much waiting around. Throughout the session he was very encouraging and pushed her to achieve more than she otherwise would have. We had a great day and will probably have another session in the spring

As I was preparing to walk the 3,000km Te Araroa trail down the length of New Zealand, I needed to learn how to cross rivers safely and brush up on my navigation skills and so I sought out Iain. He was knowledgeable, professional and courteous and took my outdoor fears and concerns seriously. I have come away feeling much more confident having now boosted my outdoor skills.

I had a great introductory day’s caving with Iain last week, visiting Longchurns and Brow Gill caves in the North Yorkshire Dales. My first time underground and it’s like entering another world of tunnels, shafts, narrow passages, streams and waterfalls. Iain is an expert and knowledgeable guide and knows how to challenge you while offering support when necessary! I would certainly recommend this activity for groups or individuals.

We booked a one day canoeing experience with Iain and the guys at the Lakes Outdoor experience and can honestly say despite the weather not being great we had a great time.
Iain was great in letting my 9yr old have some time in a kayak too to see how he liked it and can honestly say he loved every minute.
It was a brilliant experience and like others we can't wait to do other adventures with Iain and the team and would highly recommend them to anyone as he made it a tiring but fun day and lots of local knowledge which helped thanks again Iain the Ryan family.

We've been all over the world doing some terrific things, Sydney harbour bridge, sleeping out under stars in out back, pyramids,almafi coast and this day out rated up there with them.
Iain was fantastic. Professional,helpful,patient and very knowledgeable.

We had a fantastic day in the Lakes with my family (there were 13 of us aged from 9 to 54 years of age). We went climbing in the morning and ghyll scrambling in the afternoon, which was great fun. We all loved the experience and Iain and Hayley were excellent guides. The photos Iain took were great as they are a permanent reminder of a lovely day. I would definitely recommend Lakes Outdoor Experience!

I joined Lakes Outdoor Expereince guided walking holiday to Slovenia this July and it was amazing! The Village we stayed Kal Kortnica is in the valley and surrounded by the beautiful and majestic Julian Alps. It has wonderful views and surroundings. You couldn'r ask for anythig better. It is very quiet and peacful with friendly locals.

The chalet was great accomadation and Matt provided fantastic hospitality. He will bake you some great sweet treats and quiche for you lunches. Matt also has great knowledge of the area and very much appreciates the area. He was also very kind and met the needs of his hosts.

Thw walks took us through some fantastic landscape and the range of alpine flora and fauna was astounding. I've just been looking at the photos from the trip and they evoke some great memories and emotions. One of the best Holidays!

Iain is a great guide who interacts well with all his guests and caters to peoples needs. He has good knowledge of the area and his passion for exploring and walking comes across strongly.

I had a brill time and the group of people that joined the trip were lovely and I've made some new friends who i hope to contine walking adventures with.

Don't hesitate to book this trip! I would do it all again and hopefully will join Iain and Matt in 2019 for their next guided tour.

Myself and 2 friends set ourselves the task of completing the 3 peaks and Iain was our guide.
From start to finish (14hrs later) he was motivating and most of all patient with us. He kept us going even when we felt like giving up, he even carried my backpack (aswell as his own) for the last couple of mile as he could see how much pain I was in and I can't thank him enough for that, I was ready for a good cry 😂
Iain knew a lot about the area, pointing things out as we walked. He took some fab photos as we made our way round too. Would definitely use Iain again if i needed a guide and am even looking at all the other activities he does 😊 this adventuring malarkey is quite addictive. I'm sure we will see you again.

We completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge with Iain on Saturday just gone. He was a great guide to have from Start to finish. Iain was down to earth, full of local knowledge and made those 26 miles ish bearable. He went at our groups pace, lots of good tips shared and was an excellent motivator! We also got told many interesting travelling stories which kept us occupied for hours. Would highly recommend Iain to others for a challenge such as this. Thanks Iain 😃
