Glenridding Beck, Ullswater Valley

location-glenridding-beck-ghyll-scrambling-gorge-walking-1.jpgGlenridding Beck is the best ghyll scrambling/gorge walking venue in the Ullswater Valley. The gorge walking here is split in to two sections- one below the lead mines and one above.

The lower section is narrow and rocky with some interesting scrambling moves to be made and some sections where a rope is necessary to get up the odd waterfall. You'll be surprised by how much time you'll spend in this section with it's deep pools, scrambling bits and powerful flow, but it's really great fun!

location-glenridding-beck-ghyll-scrambling-gorge-walking-waterfall-climbing.jpgWe meet in Glenridding Village on the A592 opposite the entrance to the Inn on The Lake (CA11 0PE for Satnav purposes) where there is free, unrestricted parking.  Do not park in the pay & display car park in Glenridding - we do not stay in the village and you will be wasting your money! From our meeting point, we drive up the valley to a suitable location to park, get kitted up and then go into Greenside Beck.

Our ghyll scrambling/gorge walking sessions in Glenridding Beck are usually 4 hours in duration and we generally start at 09:00 or 1pm on the day although we can be more flexible with our timings if required.
