The Zig Zags, Gearr Aonach. - The Zig Zags make a great introduction to winter mountaineering at grade II. This route weaves up the eastern side of the middle sister - Gearr Aonach through bands of cliffs to arrive atop a long ridge ultimately leading to the summit of Stob Coire An Lochan. Low down on the mountain, this route is easily accessed from the A 82 in little over half an hour and can be a great place to play and learn useful skills on a day when the weather is raging amongst the summits. It is equally as good in descent as ascent.
