Coniston Water, Coniston, South Lakes.

kayaking-group-coniston-water.jpgConiston Water in the south western Lake District, is one of the area's most peaceful lakes and one of the prettiest. Apart from Coniston Village at the north west corner of the lake, coniston water is largely free of waterfront housing and it's shores are peaceful and almost completely wooded. The lake is most easily accessed from the south via the A590 and A5084 roads but can also be accessed from the north via the A593 road coming in to Coniston from Ambleside.

kayaking-coniston-water.jpgWe are fortunate that Coniston Water also has a number of free parking places along it's east of shore road and on the A5084 Torver Road between Brown Howe (NPA Pay & Display) and Sunny Bank; it is in these places where we will usually meet you for your Kayaking Session.

kayaking-family-session-coniston-water.jpgOnce we have met you and gotten you kitted out, we will head out to explore the lake. We can visit numerous wooded bays and pretty secluded places and also visit Peel Island (known as Wild Cat Island in Arthur Ramsomes book "Swallows & Amazons" where there is the option to do a high jump from a rock into the lake; and generally journey around, learn new skills; and enjoy some kayaking games along the way.
