Are you thinking of spending more time in the mountains this winter? You have already attended a winter skills course and fancy trying some of those ridge routes leading in to the top of your favourite mountains, but are unsure of how to deal with the extra hazards that snow & ice bring with them.

You may have heard of others attempting routes such as Sharp Edge on Blencathra, Striding Edge on Helvellyn or routes further north such as Curved Ridge on Buachaille Etive Mor, The Aonach Eagach; or Ledge Route on Ben Nevis.

The idea of Winter Mountaineering sounds like exciting and exhilarating stuff, however, you don't feel confident to try such routes on your own having heard that an understanding of basic rope-work technques is involved and perhaps feeling that you are lacking in the skills necessary to tackle these routes and stay safe!

At Lakes Outdoor Experience, we have a number of Mountaineering Instructors at our disposal with a great deal of experience of coaching and guiding on Scotland & The Lake District's classic winter mountaineering routes. Why not start the winter season by having a day of guided Mountaineering with us; and then you can decide if you want to learn the techniques of winter mountaineering for yourself! Ideally, you will have attended a winter skills course before attending any winter mountaineering course.

What we are offering you!
